I was curious as to how LinkedIn and Facebook and the rest produced a preview of a link when a Url is pasted in.

So, I looked around as to how this was commonly done, and couldn't find anything I liked.

So I wrote my own.

After getting into it some, I found that there was a treasure trove in them there hills, so I dug deeper and am finding that there is a lot I can produce to help anyone's SEO efforts. Stay tuned as I am transforming this into an advisor, and I may expose a restful service if anyone want to use this funtionality on their site.
